Ordering, Delivery & Returns
We want you to enjoy every part of purchasing a print from Luis The Abstract Artist. This page answers some of the most common questions about ordering, delivery and returns. If there’s anything else you’d like to know, we’d be delighted to hear from you.
Are prints signed?
Yes, all prints are signed by Luis before they are dispatched.
What paper and inks are used?
All giclée printing is carried out by one of the UK’s leading fine art print laboratories using Arches BFK Rives paper and archival pigment inks. This long-fibre, acid-free paper beautifully captures intricate detail and rich, vibrant colour, producing museum-quality prints designed to last for generations.
How long will delivery take?
Orders are usually dispatched within seven working days. Delivery is typically a further 2–3 working days within the UK and around one week for most international destinations.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes. We ship internationally, usually via DHL.
Will I receive tracking information?
Yes. Once your order has been dispatched, you’ll receive an email containing your tracking details where available.
Will I pay customs charges?
No. The price you see is the price you pay. We want ordering a print to be as simple as possible, wherever you are in the world, so any customs duties and import charges are covered by us. There will be no additional customs charge for you to pay.
How will my print order arrive?
Your print is carefully wrapped in protective tissue paper, rolled and packed in a heavy-duty shipping tube to ensure it arrives safely.
What happens if my print order arrives damaged?
Damage is uncommon thanks to the way our prints are packaged, but occasionally items can be mishandled during transit. If your print arrives damaged, please email us within 14 days of delivery with clear photographs of both the packaging and the print.
Where appropriate, we’ll send a replacement. If we do need the damaged print returned, we’ll provide instructions for returning it and cover the agreed return shipping costs.
What happens if my order is lost in transit?
If your order is lost during transit, please contact us and we’ll work with the courier to resolve the issue. If the parcel cannot be located, we’ll arrange a replacement or refund as appropriate.
Can I return a print?
Yes. If you decide your print isn’t right for you, you may return it within 14 days. Return postage is the responsibility of the customer. The print must be returned in its original saleable condition before a refund can be issued.
How are originals shipped?
Original works are professionally packed in custom crates and shipped by Pack & Send, whom we have found to be exceptionally reliable for both UK and international deliveries.
Are colours exactly as shown on screen?
Colours vary from screen to screen, so we cannot guarantee an exact match between what you see online and the finished print.
It will probably be better. ;)
Will my print fade over time?
We use archival pigment inks on museum-quality fine art paper. When displayed out of direct sunlight and cared for appropriately, your print is designed to retain its colour and quality for many decades.
Will my print include a frame?
No. Prints are supplied unframed, allowing you to choose a frame that best suits your home and style. Each print is produced in carefully chosen standard sizes to make framing straightforward. As the original artworks vary in proportion, some prints may have slightly wider borders on two sides to preserve the composition of the painting.
